Okay, I'm just about to leave on a much-looked-forward-to date, but I had to catch this. Andrew just came running in from the backyard shouting "I've got President Hinkley! I've got President Hinkley!" I go to see what the fuss is all about, and he throws his wrinkly, wet foot in my face. "See! President Hinkley!"
Like President Hinkley is a condition - and a wrinkly one at that! For those of you that don't know, President Hinkley was our Prophet who just recently died at the age of 96 or 97. And yes, he definitely had his share of wrinkles. (:

Gotta Love Him
This is a conversation Jake and I had today. As we drove home from school I asked him the question I ask him everyday...
Me: "What was your favorite thing about today?"
He fairly exploded with excitement as he told me that they played Dragon Whip in P.E. today. He told me that they all had different colored handkerchiefs tucked into their waistbands and they had to try to steal the flags of anyone with the same color flag as them. He told me that no one had been able to get his.
Me: "Wow. You must have been a quick mover, today!"
Jake: (spitting with all his enthusiasm and using all sorts of hand motions) "Not only was I quick-footed, but as soon as someone was about to grab my flag I would leap as HIGH as I could and then practically do a side flip as I spun out of their reach. Then I would hit the ground rolling and head for the safety zone. Worked every time."
i burst out laughing. What a kid.

AHHHHHH!
Each day my most pressing question is what important thing to drop. Being this busy is certainly not the way for me. What's prolonging the finishing of all these things is a cute little one who continues to need naps (shouldn't she be completely independent now that she's hit a year old?), and to be fed, and to be interacted with.
I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO BALANCE THINGS! All I want is a clean house, all my projects done, and to be able to really play with my kids at least 3 hours a day and read to them for at least an hour each day......oh - and a home cooked meal before 7:00.
Any volunteers to come live with me? I promise I'll pay....um with smiles and conversation. Oh, and I will thank you often.

Christmas in October!
We are happy to announce the arrival of our internet connection! As of 8:40 this evening, we were finally connected to the world after EIGHTEEN days. 10 of those days we had no phone service either. That was interesting. Let's just say we ended up moving to our new house sooner than planned, and in all the craziness, I forgot one little detail. At least it wasn't the electricity. (though, come to think of it, a couple of frantic calls and moans about small children in the house would've made that a much shorter wait than the AT&T Men of All Power and No Appointments).
I can't wait to start documenting the great things that have been happening around here!
